This event was organized by the national coordinator of European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE) – ČASNIK FINANCE
Environmental Summit was held on the 7th of November, 2019 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia in Ljubljana. The meeting has a tradition of more than 20 years, and it has a rich professional program and a diverse selection of local and foreign speakers. The emphasis of the program held on the presentation of good and environmentally friendly practices in Slovenian companies.
This year’s Environmental Summit presented a continuation of the successful past meetings, which aimed to strengthen and to encourage all those in the workplace, actively seeking to increase the economic competitiveness, based on a culture of environmental, material and energy responsibility.
The following topics were addressed at this year’s Environmental Meeting:
- Waste – trash or raw materials and energy source?
- Review of the situation in Slovenian industry – monitoring excellence in practice
- Is environmental and energy excellence an asset in the market? Experience in Slovenian economy.
Key highlights of this year’s Environmental Meeting are the practical experiences that Slovenian industry has to offer. Concrete environmental projects are to be presented and critically discussion over the challenges of future development will take place. The presentations of the companies or research institutions that have already received the awards at one of the past Environmental Summits for their efforts and projects will contribute to enrich the event programme and to raise the importance of the good practice examples running at the Slovenian national/regional environment.
CEPLAFIB, as a grand finalist receiver of the Environmental Award 2018 for best presented environmental international partnership, was this year invited as a key speaker to represent the ongoing progress of the CEPLAFIB alliance. The latest results, including with the first validated prototypes, has been presented to large public audience and some interesting stakeholders was targeted and actively involved through this event.
The public auditory comprised at least 200 people from different fields of actions, including with the main representors of the Slovenian National media environment.
